Wittenberg Law Billing Policy
We believe that a straight hourly rate can create a disincentive for the lawyer to provide financial advice and business investment legal services on an efficient basis. There should be no doubt that a lawyer that is paid on the basis of how many hours worked has the financial incentive to work more hours, although this conflict is tempered by the possibility of repeat client business and referrals.
However, there are some occasions that require an hourly rate due to uncertainty of the length of the project or other unforeseen complexities that arise on a project. That said, we believe that our success depends in large part on client referrals. Therefore, we focus on communicating well with our clients so that there are no surprises when we bill for our services.
Before we do any business, financial or legal work for you, we meet with you to discuss possible representation. Based upon your particular needs, we may propose a legal strategy, and suggest a rate structure before we begin billing for our time. We believe it is important for all involved to understand the nature of the client’s needs before a billing structure can be tailored to the unique needs of every relationship.
We are open to working on a hourly, contingent, hybrid or flat fee basis depending upon the matter and the surrounding circumstances.
